Reloading

Reloading can be dangerous. Allways read the Warnings and Instructions associated with the loading data you are using.

E.g. Read the warnings from IMR Safety and Hodgdon shotshell reloading

Allthough the .410 is one of the smallest shotguns, its cartridges produce some of the highest chamber pressures. These pressures will alter unpredictably, and dangerously, if reloading components are swapped for others.

Stephen Compton has produced blueprints for the manufacture of .410 swaged slugs.

Some reloading data quotes pressures exceeding the UK CIP Proof rules of 740 bar (7280 psi) for standard proof and 900 bar (11200 psi) for magnum proof. Be warned!
